Voice: Call sounds like a banjo string being plucked. A short, explosive "glunk." We have heard them call from March through September. Habitat: Occurs in permanent bodies of water including creeks, rivers, springs, sloughs, reservoirs and ponds. Range: Statewide

tan to green. Males have a bright yellow throat during the breeding
season. Distinguished from American Bullfrogs, which they resemble, by dorsolateral folds
that curve around the tympanum,
