Green Frog
Lithobates clamitans
 
Description: Size: 2.2-3.5 inches, (record 4.2 inches.)  A medium sized frog ranging in color from tan to green.  Males have a bright yellow throat during the breeding season.  Distinguished from American Bullfrogs, which they resemble, by dorsolateral folds that curve around the tympanum, as in the Bullfrog, but also extend down the back, 

Voice: Call sounds like a banjo string being plucked.  A short, explosive "glunk."  We have heard them call from March through September. 

Habitat: Occurs in permanent bodies of water including creeks, rivers, springs, sloughs, reservoirs and ponds.
