The Halley's Comet Telescope

The following ad appeared in a Sunday newspaper during the peak of the hype about Comet Halley in 1985.  Note that the telescope is "600%" power, or 6x.  The lenses are "shatter-resistant" , and the tube is made of a "hi-impact, corrosion-resistant polymer" .  The 40mm plastic lens has a "integral aperture stop" which means that only the central portion of it is used to form an image.  Thus the actual aperture is somewhat less than 40mm.  No mounting is supplied.
